Travel has a way of unsettling skin: dry cabin air, a different climate, unfamiliar water and long days with little sleep. A trip is rarely the moment for a whole new routine. A small, familiar kit tends to serve you far better.
Keep It Familiar
Pack the products your skin already knows, and leave experiments for when you are home. A cleanser, a moisturiser and sunscreen cover most trips; anything beyond that is a bonus rather than a requirement.
Mind the Liquid Limits
Many airports limit liquids, creams and gels in hand luggage to small containers, often 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) each, so check the rules for your airline and route before you pack. Some of our products already fit that size, such as the Watermelon Hydration Moisturizer (50 ml / 1.7 fl oz) and our Tallow Creams (56 g / 2 oz). Larger bottles, such as our 177 ml (6 fl oz) cleanser and toner, are better in checked luggage or decanted into small travel bottles.
Solid bars keep things simple. Our handcrafted soap bars weigh 4 oz (113 g) each, and a bar such as Breathe Clear Soap, with its eucalyptus and peppermint blend, makes an easy, mess-free wake-up in an unfamiliar shower. Let it dry between uses and carry it in a breathable soap case.
On the Plane
Cabin air is famously dry. A light layer of moisturiser before you board, and again on long flights, helps skin feel more comfortable, and drinking water as you go helps too. If you are flying by day in a window seat, keep sunscreen within reach.
Arriving: A Reset Shower
After a long journey, a slow shower can feel like pressing a reset button. If you have room for a jar, the Peppermint Coffee Scrub makes that shower feel especially fresh: spoon out a handful, massage it over damp skin, then rinse the remaining grounds away with warm water. Coffee, brown sugar and sea salt do the polishing, coconut and castor oils leave skin feeling soft, and peppermint oil gives it a bright, cool scent. Treat it as an occasional ritual rather than a daily step, and keep it away from the eyes.
Heat and Your Kit
If your trip is somewhere warm, keep an eye on balms. Our Tallow Creams melt at around 85°F (29°C); if a jar softens, the oils may separate, so mix it gently and pop it in the fridge for a while. Keep products out of direct sun and hot cars whenever you can.
