Choosing a Daily Moisturiser That Earns Its Place

If your routine could only keep one step after cleansing, most of us would choose a moisturiser. It is the product we reach for twice a day, so it is worth choosing one that earns its place.

What a daily moisturiser should do

A moisturiser leaves skin feeling hydrated and comfortable. A good everyday one absorbs, sits under sunscreen, and feels pleasant morning or night. Skin also changes with the season, so a cream you will actually use beats a cabinet of jars you open once.

The cream that replaced the old moisturiser

The jar that used to be called Peptide Moisturizer is now the Peptide Ageless AM/PM Cream. The name is the claim we stand behind: it is an AM and PM cream, and peptides are part of how the product is named and sold. Use it after cleansing and after any serum, morning or night, and follow the suggested use on the product page. We are not going to pin extra botanicals on it that are not on its label.

If you want a lighter daytime layer, the Light Moisturising Day Cream is the 50 ml day cream in the same range. It is the cream in the daily face ritual, meant to sit after serum and before sunscreen.

A serum in front of either cream

On clean skin, the Vitamin C Serum goes first. Its formula lists ascorbyl glucoside, ascorbyl palmitate, ferulic acid, and hyaluronic acid. Give it a moment, then the cream, then sunscreen in the morning. That is the order. The serum page is the place for the full ingredient list.

A few gentle notes

Patch test anything new. Keep creams and serums out of the eyes, and stop if irritation occurs. Store them away from children. A daily moisturiser does not need a long story. It needs to suit your skin and fit the day you actually have.
